FACILITIES
Introduction
To effectively pursue modern chemical and biological research, students must
have access to modern facilities. Following years of effort to secure funds
required to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, we are pleased to have most of
the equipment required for modern research. Some of this equipment, such as
the mass spectrometers, solution NMR spectrometers, and X-ray diffractometer
are located in department centers, and is available to everyone in the
department. More specialized equipment, such as a solid state NMR
spectrometer, surface analysis equipment, and laser spectroscopy equipment, is
located in specific research laboratories, and is available only to those with
specific needs. A brief description of major research equipment and facilities
available for research in the Department of Chemistry follows.
Available Facilities:
Hamilton Hall
Nebraska Center for Mass Spectrometry
Molecular Graphics
X-ray Crystallography
Optical Instrumentation
